About SeaPattern
Enabling a world where the full potential of hydropower is unlocked!
At SeaPattern, we’re enabling the transition to renewable energy by unlocking the full potential of hydropower. Our modular, floating hydrokinetic turbines are placed in an optimized microgrid, increasing the energy output of existing hydropower plants without new infrastructure or environmental harm. The system is scalable, affordable, and non-invasive. Our technology also delivers sustainable power in remote areas and mission-critical energy solutions for disaster relief and defense.
Founded by scientists, engineers, and innovators, we’re now entering an exciting new phase—bringing our breakthrough technology to market. We are looking to expand our team with brilliant minds who want to develop our technology and join our mission, and are now looking for a Chief Engineer.
In this key role you will play an integral part in the development of SeaPattern. You will lead the technical vision for SeaPatter’s full system. You will be accountable for the engineering strategy and quality of the product, ensuring alignment and excellence in all processes of the engineering team and regulatory compliance.
Your main responsibilities will be to:
- Lead overall engineering strategy and technical vision for the product.
- Lead the engineering team through system integration, design reviews, from prototyping to testing and scaling.
- Collaborate with the CTO to ensure alignment of engineering efforts with business and strategic goals.
- Coordinate with external consultants (e.g., CFD experts) to integrate specialized knowledge into the engineering process.
- Mentor and develop engineering team members, ensuring technical growth and alignment with company culture.
- Ensure regulatory compliance of the system.
We are looking for the following qualifications:
- M.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering or closely related fields.
- Senior experience (at least 15 years) in mechanical engineering, preferably with experience in renewable energy, marine technologies, or turbine systems.
- Proven track record in engineering management and leading teams through complex technical challenges.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to make critical decisions with limited resources.
- Strong leadership skills, with a proven ability to coordinate cross-disciplinary engineering teams.
- Strong system architecture knowledge.
- Hands-on technical expertise in solving real-world engineering problems, from design to testing and scaling.
- Excellent communication skills, fluent in speaking and writing in English.

About SeaPattern
SeaPattern was founded in Sweden by a team of visionary scientists, innovators and engineers who shared a common vision - to unleash the power of hydropower.
We want to make hydropower more efficient, sustainable and accessible. Our modular, floating hydrokinetic turbines are placed in an optimized microgrid, increasing the energy output of existing hydropower plants without new infrastructure or environmental harm. Our solution is scalable, affordable, and non-invasive, and can also serve as a standalone run-of-the-river solution in areas where traditional hydropower isn’t viable.
This kind of energy is exactly the kind of energy solution the world needs - fast, scalable, and affordable. The future of clean energy won’t build itself. Let’s get to work together - join our mission!
