We are looking to expand our team with brilliant minds who want to develop our technology and join our mission, and are now looking for a Senior Director International Sales.
As Senior Director within International Sales, either as a senior advisor or employee, you will be the strategic architect and driving force behind our global commercial growth. Leveraging deep expertise and extensive network in hydropower, you will shape market entry strategies and open doors to customers to secure transformative partnerships in Sweden and across global markets.
In this role, you will be a cornerstone of our commercial expansion roadmap—navigating complex regulatory landscapes, cultivating senior-level relationships with hydropower operators and energy stakeholders, and closing high-value, long-term contracts. You will work in close collaboration with the C-suite to define and execute our growth strategy, ensuring our position as a leading force in sustainable hydropower solutions.
This is a role for a commercially astute, results-oriented leader/advisory who can operate at both strategic and executional levels: opening markets, influencing policy environments, building high-trust relationships, and delivering measurable growth in a competitive, highly regulated sector.
Your main responsibilities will be to:
- Drive and structure our commercial expansion efforts in Sweden and internationally.
- Navigate the highly regulated energy market and overcome potential barriers.
- Develop sales funnel of hydropower operators and establish relationships with high-value customers.
- Understand the customers situation and priorities and develop our win strategy.
- Win customers and structure customer contracts.
- Deliver on sales milestones, and continuously aim for better sales results.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with operations, engineering and leadership.
- Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders (e.g., government, institutions, hydropower operators).
- Lead and structure our global commercial growth strategy, ensuring strong market positioning in Sweden and key international markets.
- Identify, assess, and execute new business opportunities within the hydropower sector, from market scoping to contract execution.
- Navigate complex and regulated energy markets, proactively addressing market access and compliance challenges.
- Build and nurture high-value, executive-level relationships with hydropower operators, energy institutions, and government stakeholders.
- Define customer acquisition strategies, develop winning proposals, and negotiate strategic agreements.
- Oversee the development and management of a robust sales funnel, ensuring transparency and measurable progress against growth targets.
- Drive cross-functional collaboration with operations, engineering, and leadership to align commercial strategy with delivery capabilities.
- Represent the company at high-level industry events, forums, and negotiations to enhance brand reputation and market influence.
- Champion continuous improvement in commercial processes, systems, and best practices.
We are looking for the following qualifications:
- M.Sc./BA in business, sales and marketing.
- 10+ years of progressive international business development and sales leadership experience, with a proven track record in hydropower sector.
- Exceptional relationship-building skills, with the ability to engage at the highest levels of government, corporate, and institutional environments.
- Excellent communicator, comfortable in leading customer meetings on your own
- Demonstrated success in developing and executing market expansion strategies in highly regulated industries.
- Strong commercial acumen, contract negotiation expertise, and ability to close complex, high-value deals.
- Inspirational leader with a collaborative, hands-on approach and a relentless focus on results.
