About SeaPattern
Enabling a world where the full potential of hydropower is unlocked!
At SeaPattern, we’re enabling the transition to renewable energy by unlocking the full potential of hydropower. Our modular, floating hydrokinetic turbines are placed in an optimized microgrid, increasing the energy output of existing hydropower plants without new infrastructure or environmental harm. The system is scalable, affordable, and non-invasive. Our technology also delivers sustainable power in remote areas and mission-critical energy solutions for disaster relief and defense.
Founded by scientists, engineers, and innovators, we’re now entering an exciting new phase bringing our breakthrough technology to market. We are looking to expand our team with brilliant minds who want to develop our technology and join our mission, and are now looking for a Electrical Engineer.
What you'll get to do
As a Electrical Engineer at SeaPattern, you will be at the core of our system development designing and delivering the electrical backbone that enables efficient energy conversion and reliable grid integration.
You will work hands-on across the full development cycle, from concept and simulation to prototyping, testing, and real-world deployment.
Your main responsibilities will be to:
Design, develop, and test power electronics systems, including controllers, rectifiers, and inverters
Ensure seamless and compliant grid integration with stable and efficient power delivery
Develop and implement MPPT strategies to maximize energy extraction under varying environmental conditions
Work hands-on with prototypes—testing, iterating, and improving designs rapidly
Support generator selection and define electrical system requirements
Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams to ensure full system integration and performance
We are looking for the following qualifications:
M.Sc. in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems, Energy Systems, or a closely related field
~5 years of experience in electrical engineering, with a focus on power electronics, energy conversion, or renewable energy systems
Proven experience in hands-on prototype development, testing, and iteration
Strong understanding of grid integration and power distribution systems
Solid knowledge of three-phase power systems
Strong collaboration skills and experience working in multidisciplinary engineering teams
Excellent communication skills, with fluency in English (spoken and written)
Bonus: Experience in marine, offshore, or other harsh environments
Why Join SeaPattern?
Real Impact
Your work directly increases renewable energy production in operating hydropower plants. Not in theory in real facilities, with measurable results.
Build What Matters
You will work hands-on with deeptech systems combining hardware and advanced analytics, together with a tight team of engineers, scientists, and builders.
Grow Fast Through Ownership
You won’t be a small part of a large system. You will own real problems end-to-end from idea and design to testing and implementation and grow through doing.
How We Work
At SeaPattern, how we work matters just as much as what we build.
Focus creates momentum
We prioritize what matters most and move fast from idea to implementation.
Feedback makes us better
We challenge ideas, give direct feedback, and improve together.
Accountability builds trust
We take ownership, deliver on commitments, and communicate early.
Recruitment process
We’re reviewing applications continuously, so don’t wait to apply. This is a full-time position based at SeaPattern’s office in Linköping, Sweden. A valid EU and Sweden work permit is required.

About SeaPattern
SeaPattern was founded in Sweden by a team of visionary scientists, innovators and engineers who shared a common vision - to unleash the power of hydropower.
We want to make hydropower more efficient, sustainable and accessible. Our modular, floating hydrokinetic turbines are placed in an optimized microgrid, increasing the energy output of existing hydropower plants without new infrastructure or environmental harm. Our solution is scalable, affordable, and non-invasive, and can also serve as a standalone run-of-the-river solution in areas where traditional hydropower isn’t viable.
This kind of energy is exactly the kind of energy solution the world needs - fast, scalable, and affordable. The future of clean energy won’t build itself. Let’s get to work together - join our mission!
